Personally, I don't like it when pets get mistreated, but there is a point where I have to draw the line, since I currently keep pets that eat other 'pets.' I've nothing against doing labtesting on white mice and rats -- and other animals bred specifically for testing -- in much the same way I have no problem with eating beef, and wearing leather.
I don't like veal -- not because littlebabycalf gets 'tortured' or something, but because it tastes funny. The leather they get from things like littlebabycalf, though, is apparently very nice. Very soft, or something.
...um...to get back to the point: Animal testing = okay in some instances; torture = bad, if you exclude throwing a live mouse to a monitor lizard that paints with it while it's still alive and swallows it before it dies.
