: I have to agree first of all that this person got off too easy. I am a licenced cosmetologist, and so I know first of all that you do an allergy test for aniline derivative tints (like Miss Clarol) 24 hours before doing them on a human, let alone an animal.
I have to wonder who, besides licensed cosmotologists, follow those instructions though. Out of all the people who dye their hair. I wouldn't know; I'm happy with my original haircolour.
Also, having used Miss Clarol on myself, I can only imagine the agony this poor animal must have suffered--this crappy hair color burns like an acid bath.
If it's not too terribly personal, which colours did you use?
I hope this Red person is forced to suffer to the greatest extent possible.
As it stands right now, she's had the major fine, and the six month jailtime suspended, or something. But she has to pay Swyndle back for the vetbill, and if the cat dies, I'm guessing she'll get in trouble. And it's looking like the cat was affected; the cat may very well die sooner than we thought.
Btw--I couldn't seem to access the original story--if someone could send it to me I would appreciate it.
The 'original' story could be one of two things: the NotS, or the actual backstory which apparently resembles her defense....
Also, if you for whatever reason need to dye your animal, at least use your brain--the're are several companies like Manic Panic and Punky Color which use non-toxic dyes--then again there's always good old fashioned food color.
Or you could actually be smart about it and go out and find stuff specially formulated for cats. Or you could be really smart and understand that cats aren't those colours for a reason, and wait until the genetically-manipulated-pet market opens up....
I personally think this "Red" person should be given a sitz bath of muriatic acid--couldn't hurt the gene pool.
I'm glad someone else feels that way. ~Hunter
