Well, some things never change. . .

Yeah, my life is different.

I've got a beautiful, intelligent girlfriend. I went to the prom Friday night. I have one year left before college. I have friends, lots of them, and have finally developed what one could call a 'social life.' My marks in school -- a school, by the way, home of the world-renowned International Baccelaureate program, as well as one of the top debate teams on the continent (world record holders for most regional championships won; eight in a row), and one of the top twenty schools (one of only a few public schools on the list) in Canada -- have shot way the hell up, and I'm living the good life. I'm happier than ever, but things have been changing so quickly. My old friends, those who supported me for years, no longer exist for me: and you know what? I don't miss them. I spend little time online. I have less time for my former favorite and ultimately lonely activities. I don't remember who I was one year ago.

Here, though, things are the same as always. Which is good and bad. It's refreshing to hear Gremlin's tales of stoopid theists, read recent News of the Stoopid field reports, etc., etc. Utah's ignorance seems only to have grown -- who woulda thought that would be possible? If I can say only one thing to that fool: look, you are constantly bickering with everybody that disagrees with you, amidst self-righteous claims of your own role as 'victim' of an evil dictatorial plot by all those who disagree to wipe your opinion and, indeed, existence off this entire electronic planet.

Good lord, Utah. Ever wonder if you, you who have spouted more idiocy than any one else, you who have insulted more people and wasted more space, might be the problem? I can only hope your paranoid fantasies become self-fulfilling prophecies, and one day your mouth will be clamped shut, or you will disappear from this board, or you will be abducted by aliens. Though you'd probably enjoy that. Especially the anl probes.

There's another thing I like about this place: the biting sarcasm.

Anyway, it's summer now. My girlfriend has a job. Many of my other friends are gone away. School is over, and I have time for once in the last year. Lots of time.

Maybe I'll stick around for a while.
