The Grudge

So here we have a movie with Buffy in it…but it’s not Buffy, of course. She just watches everyone around her die, loses a boyfriend, and encounters horrid supernatural crap.

Heh.

Actually, even with her being in the film, it was okay. It reminded me a lot of The Ring, which makes sense. And it wasn’t just that thing with the eye and the hair.

There was a scene where this shadowy person shows up on a security video and moves around very much like that Ring girl that came out of the TV.

Other than that, and the thing on the stairs that looked slightly worse — in the ‘wrong’ sense and not the ‘low budget’ sense — than the Exorcist stair-walk scene, and that bit where the dead girl had the strange Tooth Fairy mouth.

Tooth fairy. Darkness Falls. Worse movie.

Either that, or she had a run-in with the head-contraption from Saw.

…that thing reminded me of City of Lost Children.

Which, by the way, was really a very good movie. Aside from the whole ‘it’s all in French’ thing. And you really do have to watch it in French, with the English subtitles, because the dub doesn’t quite capture the tone of the original language sometimes. There’s something slightly lost….

Well, um, yeah. That’s it then. If you really want to take advice from someone online about what you’re going to waste money renting, the order would be City of Lost Children, The Grudge and anything but Darkness Falls.

Go on, say something....
