I think I’ve mentioned once or twice [although it’s been misunderstood by a lurking ‘group’ of morons] that I’m not exactly happy with UPS and their habits of not being all that prompt or reliable….

This time, they’re being all other than prompt and reliable with presents and food. Presents…and food.

See, there’s this funny thing my mom does every year where she sends me presents right around this time, as well as some of her chocolate chip cookies, fudge, and these chips that I can only get in PA [unless I want to pay outrageous shipping to website I’ve never actually heard of]. And she uses UPS, because it’s the service she knows of and has a local dropoff/shipping point nearby [it happens to be at my dad’s office]. She sent them off early last week because, well, they were expecting a lot of snow and didn’t want to find herself stranded and getting the stuff to me after December 25th.

So they were in the system on the 14th or so, with a ‘delivery date’ of the 20th. Big ol’ UPS-Doesn’t-Care-to-Work weekend in the middle. And then the ‘delay was caused by a late train’ excuse cropped up….

And then one package said it was going to show up on the 21st.

The next day, it was back to the 20th for about an hour. Then, it was back to the 21st.

I should probably clairify here. Package #1 is 10lbs. Package #2 is 6lbs. Package #2 is my food.

And the 6lb package is the only one that appears to have left Illinois and started the last leg of the journey to me.

But Package #1, still showing its location as ‘HODGKINS, IL, US’, with a delivery date of 20th December…hasn’t moved.

I can only assume that they scanned Package #2 and both of them are on the way here, to be delivered on the 21st.

All I know is that waiting makes me cranky, and that they’d better not damage anything….
