I figured that, since it looks like I might be doing a little more picture-sharing here, I might as well try and get some pictures of my camera.
What a fucking disaster that turned into. I’ll only share some of them here. The least crappy ones.
Anyway…this is my camera —
It’s a Sony DSC-P200. I got it back in October. This is what it looks like from the top —
And this is what it looks like from the top when the power is on —
I was gonna say ‘when I turn it on’ or ‘when it’s turned on’, but that would probably draw some fairly stupid jokes. The next three are going to be size comparisons.
The Altoids tin should give you a pretty good idea of how big [or small] the camera actually is. It’s not quite as light as an Altoids tin, but they’re kinda almost the same size.I wish I could’ve found my cinnamon Altoids tin, though. I really like those, although the flavour in the picture is my second choice…I guess. The size of the camera isn’t really that much of a bad thing, for me. It fits nicely in my pocket, and it’s light and nicely balanced.Lemme rethink that….’Light’ might be the wrong word. I don’t want to give the impression that it weighs nothing — it’s actually pretty solid and heavy-feeling, for something that size. It’s just not…really awkward, like the camera I used to take the pictures of my camera….
Of course, that camera has a hell of a lot more options — and stuff to hold on to. And it’s large and doesn’t fit into pockets.
I got some pictures of that camera, too.
There are more pictures, but those two should do something to demonstrate the rather large difference in things we’re dealing with here. They’re both made by Sony, and that’s probably about all they have in common. Except that they both have the Zeiss lenses, which, since they’re both Sony…not really a surprise.Other than that…mine is newer, was cheaper, is 7.2mp instead of 5something, and…is obviously a hell of a lot smaller, and meant for someone who is more of a point-and-shoot person who might want to expand into some slightly more ‘complex’ things like ‘setting your own film speed’ and all that shit.Gremlin’s camera has more of those settings than mine does. I really don’t need those, though. I mean, I only just learned that having the flash on can make a difference, even in sunlight.I probably should’ve thought this out a little better…but I’m just killing time until UPS shows up. Maybe I’ll actually do a review later, when I can think.
All that is missing is you taking a picture of yourself taking a picture.
