In , I sort-of explained my system of having opinions of charities based on the quality of the goodies they send me.
I’ve been kinda slacking off on that, I guess, mostly because it’s only the ones that suck that have any obvious ranking….
The Veterans Associations [DAV, VFW, VVA, all those] are pretty cool. They usually send not just address labels [and bunches of them], but little note pads. The note pads would be cooler if they had a magnet on them.
PeTA still sucks. Their labels are always the same, and getting worse.
Joining PeTA is the “National Arbor Day Foundation.” They sent me a ‘please send us money and become a member for a year’ solicitation, offering me ten ‘trees’ [not sure if they’re just seeds or what], plus a lilac bush, plus books and whatnot…and a sheet of address labels that look like their printer ink was all…leaky.
It was just one small sheet, and there were a few stickers, but they were crappy, specific stickers. “Happy Birthday,” “Happy Holidays.”
So, bleh….
