The other day, we ended up with a paper for some reason. There were a bunch of those coupon fliers in it, , and, in one of them, there was a recipe for a vegan no-boiling lasagna. I was a little put-off by the ‘vegan’ aspect, but I figured there might be something useful about the URL included with the coupon and recipe.
So, I went to homebasics.com, and found a recipe for Ragu No Boiling Lasagna.
I’m a disaster in the kitchen. With only a little help, I was able to make this and it came out quite tasty.
I did substitue the Meat flavoured Ragu for the Traditional, and added a bit of sugar [like my mom always did/does with her spaghetti sauce], but I otherwise followed the instructions to the best of my ability. I purchased regular lasagna noodles, because, until today, I was unaware of the fact that there were ‘oven ready’ lasagna noodles. Turns out, you don’t need to pay the extra. Just put a little more sauce in, and they’ll soften up nicely.
Just thought I’d share, because this involved bits and pieces that I’d purchased on the day I was accused of theft.
I also purchased a couple of bottles of wine that day, because it was 10% off wine day at the neighbouring liquor store. I was unable to get the…brand, is it? that I liked from the last purchase, so I ended up getting two new kinds on the suggestion of one of the workers. I haven’t tried the one bottle yet, but the other was this blend of three different red wines. I’m pretty sure that it’s the ‘classic’ on this website. Y’know, in case anyone cares. I admittedly know nothing about the world of wine, just like I know nothing about alcohol in general. I only drink what tastes good to me, and doesn’t hurt me.
Wandering back to the theft subject — after posting here, I emailed the Ethics people at the address on the Safeway website. They got back to me telling me that they were handing it off to the Denver Loss Prevention Division, and today I heard back from someone else saying that they’d interviewed everyone involved and wanted to talk to me.
I guess I have to call them Monday.
I’m not sure if this is good or bad. I only know that I’m getting awfully low on soda, and I’m awfully pissed that I’m missing some decent sales on things I like.
As far as I know, I’m not kicked out. I’m just not sure I want to go back there yet. Especially now that there’s been interviewing.
