A solution to the safeway thing.

A few days ago, I was accused of stealing from Safeway. I responded in a few ways — in the post , by emailing their Ethics department, and by not going back in there.

About a half hour after I sent the email, I got a reply saying that they were sending it off to a Denver Loss Prevention somethingorother, and on Friday, I got an email from the Denver Security Manager saying I should call him today.

I did, just a little bit ago, and I heard a bit more about the entire thing.

Apparently, the ‘yes, no, yes, maybe’ he did or did not see anything black kid had a fuller story that he failed to tell out there in front of the store.

After I’d made my purchase at the Pharmacy counter, I handed over Gremlin’s prescription and transferred a few things into my bag. Gremlin said something about “Come on, let’s get out of here.”

The employee heard this, because he was in the back room, and saw us putting these purchased things into our bag. But he ‘didn’t know if we’d bought anything’, even though I was holding a very distinctive three foot long receipt and was taking things from the bag and putting them into the backpack.

And Mr Rubber Apron was the meat counter manager, which is who he told, and Leatherface was just acting on ‘good faith’.

And the same apology and invite still stands. I’m allowed back in. Also, I shouldn’t feel as if I’m likely to be watched or thought about by other workers, because it was all a big mistake, and never should’ve happened.

And I guess they’re going to try and make sure something like that never happens to anyone again.

Also, they think I write nice letters.

Go on, say something....
