Especially when the mondays are stupid postal holidays.
I kinda got this bad feeling a little bit ago, and thought I’d check it out. Stupid postal holidays. And…what sort of holiday is this, anyway? Isn’t not having mail somehow shitting on the entire concept of what George Washington helped to start?
These lameass excuses for not delivering the mail have got to stop. What’s that little saying? “Through rain, snow, sleet, or hail, and the gloom of night…” or something? Someone forgot to put the little * at the end of the quote, to guide us all to the fine print at the bottom of the promise.
*The Post Office will not deliver in cases of extreme rain or snow, and will not only not be open at night, but never actually see sunrise or sunset. The Post Office will also not deliver mail on certain random days, because we just can’t. We just can’t. Also, the Post Office won’t, in any situation, leave the truck to deliver mail. Unless it’s convenient for us, or unless there’s a package that needs to be delivered. Maybe. But if there’s a car…no deal. It’s just too much work.
UPS probably doesn’t run today, either. FedEX might. They seem to do that on days when nobody else bothers to run. So, if my mattress has actually been shipped, and was shipped by FedEX, maybe I’ll actually have a bed soon.
But…probably not.
