The basics — there’s this guy I know from chat, that I actually met once, who’s being charged with four or six or who the fuck really knows how many counts of exposing people to HIV.

So, basically, if you know you’ve got it and you mean to spread it, you’re…what’s a ‘severity level 7 person felony’?

Departing from the issue I haven’t even begun to address for a minute, I’m going to have to take issue with the part of this law that deals with sex. It seems — just to me, mind you, and I’m most certainly not a lawyer in Kansas — that the law is just there to snag the males that transmit the disease. As if it’s somehow impossible for a guy to get it from a chick, and somehow impossible for that chick to knowingly spread it, and intend to spread it.

I don’t know why it seems that way. I’m sure some will opine that I am, in fact, an idiot. Or possibly a butt-poking homo-fag. But, hey, I guess people are entitled to their opinions — it’s what makes America so great, and all that. The right of the people to be fucking retarded, and loud about it.

I found out about all this through someone’s passing mention of something in a chatroom…and a strange, burning curiosity as to why people were suddenly finding my site over and over again through searches for poeticheterosapien.

I did some searching, and I found this blog article, which led me to news stories, and new search terms.

That turned up more news stories…which disappeared shortly after I posted this. So I’ve edited the links out. Perhaps they’ve been moved, and that’s why the links no longer work. Or, perhaps, they’ve been pulled.

I found that through the news articles. Some guy decided to devote an entire ‘forum’ to this person he calls a ‘murderer’ — he seems to have already held a trial and convicted the guy, too.

Of murder. And of being pretty much everyone who ever dares to not agree with him — thereby defending ‘the murderer’.

Some of the things that are being said over there are just…well…I really don’t have words to sum it all up.

This guy, Marion, seems to have gone to a lot of trouble to save a whole bunch of websites so he can display them through this forum, and also seems to be really big on saying some really stupid shit, like:

IF YOU SEE THIS MAN ON THE STREET, RUN AS HE HAS SAID THAT HE WILL BITE PEOPLE IN ORDER TO INFECT THEM WITH HIV!

That gets addressed later in the forum. It’s not really all that easy to spread HIV through biting. You’d probably have to have some really fucked up gums. I mean, really. And if you did, your teeth would probably be pretty fucked anyway, and I really wouldn’t recommend trying to bite someone if your teeth are fucked up, because people tend to get a little…spazzy about being bitten, and you’re really, really likely to lose part of a tooth.

Some of the stuff attributed to Poe doesn’t exactly sound like him — as someone else on the forum mentioned. He was very much an atheist, for example, but He Of The Big Sunglasses has him writing a message that includes comments about a ‘Judge on high’.

What’s really entertaining is when Kansas Anarchist shows up, and starts getting accused of being either A. The Guilty Party, or B. The Fag That Infected The Guilty Party.

…because, y’know, it’s still GRID and all.

The next great piece I came across was this:

I’m not sure which is better, the classification of ‘serial killer’, or the e-psychic abilities of Mr. BigHead. He seems to know that, at no time in the future, there will be absolutely no advancements that allow people of HIV+ status to live longer lives, or even be cured. That’s AMAZING.

I saw nothing in the law that said anything about the charge being ‘murder’. People misuse this word, and they really need to stop. It’s not shocking anymore.

I saw nothing in the news reports to indicate anything resembling ‘serial murder’. Of course, none of the victim’s characteristics [beyond being female] were reported, so, hey, maybe the e-psychic knows something I don’t. Maybe the e-psychologist knows something I don’t, too.

Highly unlikely, but I’ll allow for the possibility.

As for Poe…I don’t have the full story. All I have are some news reports [which are, apparently, only full of bias or trout or whatever when it’s convenient], and the crazed ramblings of a few ignorant ‘people’ who’ve made this issue their little crusade-humpfest.

I suppose that, as a good little member of the human race, I shouldn’t support any spreading of anything, but…I’m not a good little member of the human race. I’m currently disappointed by the all-hype-no-show of H5N1. I can only hope that, if this is sufficient enough a case to go to trial, he gets a jury composed of sensible people — more sensible than myself, even. People who understand that it’s innocent-until-proven-guilty, and that everyone — and I mean everyone in this country deserves a fair trial.
