What part of Nearest Sort Facility takes so long? I’m in the middle of a TV series here, and the December 25th No Mail Day is going to get in my way.
Everything else seems to be okay. Both of the boxes from Mom left Hodgkins, Illinois this afternoon. They’re going to have to speed a little, but the truck [I can only assume it’s a truck, because nothing that leaves for here from that place ever gets here in less than a day] should get here by late tomorrow, in plenty of time for my yummy treats from PA to be in my house by close-of-business on Thursday.
The stuff from SuperMediaStore is lost in transit, having left Baldwin Park, California and entered into the No Checkpoint Land between there and…wherever it lands next. I can’t remember.
The newest member of this little tracking family is the game guide I ordered yesterday. It shipped, conveniently enough, by UPS Next Day Air. I don’t need a second tracking page to watch for it — lucky me.
Anyway, it left Nevada at almost eight. I’ve never been to Nevada, and the only reason I’m familiar with ‘Sparks, Nevada’ is because I see it so often from Amazon.com, so I don’t know if there’s actually a chance in hell of getting it tomorrow. If I don’t, I saw something on amazon.com about getting my shipping refunded, so it’s all in the good area.
But, oh, we have a Winter Weather Warning. This makes things interesting and potentially complicated. It’s in effect until 5pm Thursday.
The only time I saw things stop moving completely here was in 2003. The ‘big storm’ [not really, but it killed a few trees because it was early] we had shortly after we moved into the new place stopped a few things, but the UPS and FedEx trucks were out the very next day, driving around and delivering stuff while collecting funny branch piles on their trucks. So…I’m not really worried.
