I’m still playing around with Gallery, trying to get everything moved over and set up. I found out the hard way that there isn’t exactly a great option for migrating Coppermine to it, so I’m doing it all by hand.

It was easy enough to get it looking the way I want it to look, and it makes a nice new album whenever I add a folder instead of individual items, so that’s great. Nice and easy, and all that, which is exactly what I wanted. But it’s lacking a few things, or I’m having a hard time finding them. Like the ability to find identical items, or the ability to, say, do a search on ‘thumbs’ and then delete those fucking files that I never meant to upload anyway….

Between the weird duplicates and the Thumbs files, this is getting annoying.

Also, I’m having to go through and make sure the albums have the right names and the right ‘highlight’ thumbnails, so it’s sorta like the old gallery. I’m loving the ability to just move shit around, though. I wasn’t able to move some of my albums in Coppermine, because they ended up as ‘personal’ galleries.

While I’m going through and checking names and deleting shit, I’m also uploading the ‘digicam’ folder, which just happens to be a super-fucking-massive folder from hell, and it’s actually choking my bandwidth.

So, yeah. This kinda sucks.

On a completely unrelated note, I’m starting to think maybe I should turn off one of my little comment-security things, since all the others seem to be doing a lovely job. Yeah, I think I’ll go do that now while I’m waiting for the digicam folder to finish uploading.

And then, maybe I’ll have some bread with peanutbutter on it. That sounds tasty.
