Actually, someone else had a great idea, but I think it’s good, too. Snopes sent it to me this morning.
It’s FreeRice.com.
Before anything else: Snopes says it’s true. Or, ‘real’, or ‘actual’, or ‘not a hoax’. Here’s their article on it.
The great thing about this isn’t that you’re donating anything, or that anyone else is donating anything, but that you might be forced to LEARN SOMETHING while doing what you feel is ‘good’.
I think people should spread this around to all those happy little idiots who feel so good when they do empty good gestures. Force them to learn in order to give, because I can guess that most people? Have no fucking clue that ruth isn’t just a name, or that edacious and perdurable are words. So they won’t be giving any rice. At all.
I’m at 120 grains. Yay me.
Okay, that’s just too cool.
Sweet site. I got three bowls done before I got tired of it. Definitely worth revisiting. Especially if one has a couple minutes to kill.
