It’s been a long couple of days.

I’m not kidding. I woke up on Wednesday when Wednesday was barely old enough to be considered a new day, and I feel like I’ve been awake since then.

We ended up taking a walk after the sun came up. I got some pictures of things that might or might not be good as textures for things, and, as usual, the walk ended at Starbucks, where we found out that there’s no longer any Almond syrup.

I was planning on picking up some cat food there, but that didn’t work out. Things like that never work out.

Somehow, we ended up in the opposite lot, at Kohls, looking at watches, and listening to the person behind the counter explain to someone’s grandmother that time is an abstract concept that kids don’t understand until after a certain age [so, if they’re going to buy these Disney watches for them, they should save those watches for a later gift].

…so, now I have a watch.

It’s weird and overly complex, and it was on sale. I’m not sure, but I might keep track of it for a few months. Or not. Never can tell, really.

After that, there was a trip to Sam’s Club with a friend, because I can never have enough soda, beef, or cheese. Seriously, never.

I can also never have enough pocket-sized note pads, sharpies, or pens that are easy to write with. Or enough things to cut with.

What I can have enough of is the view of ass I was [unfortunately] treated to by the person at the checkout counter….

Of course, I didn’t get any cat food. They didn’t have it at Sam’s Club. Zombi doesn’t understand these things, though, and I was given a rather serious scolding when I got home, for not getting her many, many little containers of wet catfood [with real beef!] and for failing to return promptly.

Oh no. She’s not spoiled.

Later that night, we actually went back to the store and got her some. Also, icecream. Which reminds me….

Icecream sandwiches are about half the size they used to be, which is really very annoying. Why the hell would they do that? So they can charge more without appearing to charge more? I hope so, because the only other reason I can think of ties into another upsetting and stupid thing I’ve been noticing — that most of our icecream section is ‘lite’ or ‘fat free’ now.

If they’re reducing portions to go along with the whole fat free thing, that’s just…wrong. Icecream is not supposed to be ‘fat free’, and people who are dieting do not need to be eating it.

On the subject of eating — cheese-break.

I just got an email from Acer that might have to do with the phone call that led up to yesterday’s trip out into the real world.

This monitor that we got in June of last year to replace the last monitor that broke on Gremlin started doing this really annoying thing where part of the screen was all blurry and duplicated. Acer has three year warranties on their monitors, so I decided to give their service a try. They say it will only cost me shipping. Strangely, I’m not exactly inclined to take all that on faith. Especially since the guy I got on the customer service line was of the somewhat-surly tech-support-stuck-talking-to-a-stupid-girl tone.

If they do fix it [or replace it for free, whatever], I guess that means I’ll have a second monitor up here, which will be good. A spare widescreen monitor is a good thing to have, especially when you’ve got a TV with a VGA port that requires the computer to be pre-set to a specific resolution in order for it to work at all.

I wonder if that email has anything in it about the reference number….

Go on, say something....
