Damned keyboards.

It’s getting to be impossible to find a good keyboard. And by ‘good’, I don’t mean ‘indestructible’ or whatever. I mean ‘has a properly shaped Enter key, and a large backspace key, and isn’t overly large.’

I might also mean ‘doesn’t have all those extra stupid things that break easily’ and ‘has keys of the proper unrigid unsquishiness’, and maybe a few other things.

I'll give Newegg credit for my being back.

Got my new power supply today, which is great. I was getting sick of all that doing almost nothing. And, since I already had my computer torn apart, I decided to try cloning my C drive onto a bigger drive. Very exciting adventure right there, with all the progress-bar watching, and the countdowns, and the initial failure.

I’m back now, with a slightly larger C drive, and a backup drive all ready to boot if something goes wrong.

Of course, I now have to find another drive for my TV computer.

…and maybe track down the owner’s manual for my motherboard, because I kinda forget which way my card reader hooks up, and I don’t want to get that wrong.

What should I do now. Oh, hey! I could burn some stuff. That’ll be fun.

Computer withdrawal.

It’s a real thing. See, a couple of hours ago, my tower suddenly stopped being a computer and started being a big fancy paperweight, and I was instantly all shaky and cold and sick. Not because there was no more chat, but because there was no more computer, period.

The good news? It was the power supply, and I have a spare that I can use until the new, better one gets here.

I’m not going to be very happy until it gets here, though. I’m down to one harddrive and craptastically little RAM. Also, no card reader, just to be safe. Hopefully, nothing else went with the power supply. Everything seems to work, so far. It’s just a matter of waiting for UPS.

…oh, god. I’m going to die, aren’t I?
