Hunter made me realize that some abuse of animals is necessary, to produce food and products for humans. It also seems necessary to try to be responsible, in that we are superior to animals, and should try to be humane about their treatment. It does help me to realize this issue is more complex, but that compassion is necessary, in the case of pets.
