The first time I remember even hearing about her was the day that Red posted about her 'black, white, purple, and orange' kitten. I was assured it was 'animal safe' that day when I mentioned to her how horrid it would be to use actual human hairdye on a cat; I now know that to be a lie, as were most things she told us. But that's not the point. When I got up an hour ago, I was greeted by the cute little bastard. She looked up at me from her spot on the floor where she was engaging in a bout of 'rolling about in that cute way a cat generally does', meowed, and started purring. I went over and spent some time with her. Shortly thereafter, she came over here to where I'm sitting, and climbed up into my lap. Something she never used to do all that much until Red left. See: the first time I met the cat, I was told that she'd probably eat me if I tried to touch her. She did. She bit. She still bites; that hasn't changed. But she does so significantly less -- and typically only in true play. She's not being spun around on the floor all that much anymore [unless she latches onto my foot and I decide to drag her for a bit until she lets go, instead of just pushing her away...]. My first morning in this house was a little different from my first night -- the cat woke me up by purring at me, right next to my face. After that, she'd come in and sleep on the bed with us a lot. A couple of times when I was sick, she'd crawl under the blankets, lean up against my stomach, and purr. After Red left, she'd start out every morning either sleeping next to me or waking me up by doing the retarded ferret dance across the waterbed -- this, of course, was well after the constant bathings and the furshaving. She'd crawl into my lap multiple times a day, purring and resting her head in the crook of my elbow, sleeping for hours while I typed. She's a wonderful animal; I think that if it weren't for all the chemicals retarding her, she'd be one of the most loving cats I know. ~Hunter
