you're not trying to correct misinformation-all you're trying to do is prove me wrong.why?-it's something i've seen with"by the book"types numerous times.you're totally inflexible & can't go beyond that.if what you're saying is true-& i'm only talking here about the species i've dealt with,i'm no expert on the others-someone's snake at some point would have exhibited some of that behavior.i'm not saying it never happens-i'm saying that it's very unlikely.your world of herpetologists is a very small fraction of snake keepers.(do you"study"the family dog?).again i'll say that having burmese, boas & retics living together is a very common, almost majority practice-i've seen it a lot,& i've never heard of one of these attacking another.one last thing-since this started,i've looked back on some of my books,& even consulted one of"yours",& some things contradict your facts-are these experts wrong as well?i'm not even going to argue with you anymore.you live in your sterile world of"facts",& i'll continue to live in the real world.

Ok, I don't know what the Cult and hash have to do with anything.

I would simply like to point out that you have consistantly fallen back to the "book" and age points when you can't defend what you've said with credible information, completely ignoring our real life hands on experience. If anyone is being inflexible it's you. And by the way, you did say it never happens, in your first post you said that anacondas were the ONLY large constrictor that exhibited this type of behavior. Go back and read it, it's right there in black and white.

Keeping different species in the same enclosure isn't anywhere close to being a majority practice, in fact quite the contrary.

As for "our world of herpetologists" being a very small fraction of snake keepers, I seriously doubt that you have personal relationships with many more snake keepers than Naja or I. Also, the snake keepers I associate with aren't just average pet keepers alone, they also include breeders, vets, reptile resuce directors and professors.

The only reason I am being so adamant about this topic is that misinformation is a very dangerous thing, especially in relation to reptile husbandry. Through my experience with my reptile rescue, school and my discussions with Doctors Fitzgerald and Klingenberg I have a much better understanding of what kind of damage this kind of thing can do. I am constantly doing my part to try and help people get the right information about these wonderful animals. I could care less about your feelings or pride. My concern is for the animals themselves. I have tried to politely correct you on this subject because it is my hope that you will pass on the correct information and possibly prevent a snake being injured or killed.

It is because of my concern for these creatures that your bullheaded, ignorant stubborness saddens me.

I find it fascinating that when one doesn't have a proverbial "foot to stand on", he resorts to various forms of pseudoreasoning. Thus far, you have yet to make a valid, rational post. Seeing as how you're a glutton for punishment, let's continue with the dissection, shall we?

"you're not trying to correct misinformation-all you're trying to do is prove me wrong.why?
Because you make it so easy by posting about that which you do not know. Because you choose to selectively ignore facts that contradicts your misinformed view. Because you chose to be rude and condescending when someone tactfully pointed out your error. In short, because you had it coming, and you made it entirely too easy.

"you're totally inflexible & can't go beyond that.if what you're saying is true"
Let's talk about inflexibility here for a moment. Once again, this is an area where you have NO ROOM WHATSOEVER to criticize others. If you recall, this entire fracas was caused by your attacking a person that corrected your assertion that anacondas are the only large constrictor that consumed cold-blooded prey. Seems a bit hypocritical of you, doesn't it?

"i'm only talking here about the species i've dealt with"
I would refer to you to your earlier posts in which you contradict the statement that you just made. Or are we to believe that you have dealt with all large constrictors, because you made assertions about them all.

"i'm no expert on the others"
Everyone can tell that.

"someone's snake at some point would have exhibited some of that behavior.i'm not saying it never happens"
Once again, I would refer you to your earlier posts, in which you directly contradict yourself.

"i'm saying that it's very unlikely"
More likely than you think, but then again, I don't imagine you have much to base your false assumptions on. You already admit that your experience is limited, and you have spoken of that which you have no first-, or even second-hand knowledge.

"your world of herpetologists is a very small fraction of snake keepers"
LOL...go right on thinking that. You're batting a thousand on your misinformation so far- no need to stop now!

"again i'll say that having burmese, boas & retics living together is a very common, almost majority practice"
On the contrary, the "majority" is responsible. Just because those few that you know are ignorant as well, it doesn't mean its a majority consensus.

"i've looked back on some of my books..."
Pop-up books don't count.

"...& even consulted one of"yours",& some things contradict your facts"
Title, author, and what was the alleged "contradiction"?

You know, I find it funny that you complain about being treated with respect when you have yet to treat anyone else respectfully.

I will repeat myself yet again in the hope that something gets through. Your "truth" is nothing more than an ignorant assumption based on limited experience than doesn't even include the species in question. I accept facts that have reliable and credible proof behind them. You have yet to provide such.

You tell him BMF and Naja. Age doesn't cancel out hands-on experience! And just because he has dealt with snakes for 16 years doesn't mean he did it all correctly. But what do I know? I'm only 26!!! LOL

you have to be,without a doubt, one of the greatest assholes that i have ever encountered.this is turning into a childish back & forth,& i refuse to be a part of it any longer.i am far from ignorant,& i know what happens.we're all doing fine with no problems.guess we're doing something right, which means we don't need you,do we.you're just an arrogant snot who loves to wave his so called knowledge in people's faces("look at me,i have an education!").like i said, our snakes are fine.p.s.-my friend ed-another snake keeper(burmese, ball & red tail boa)-says to--no,i won't print that here..

I pity the you and your friends who are obviously mistreating your reptiles. I hope one day you wake up to the proper way of doing things and begin treating your animals with the respect they deserve.
